Homelessness: an overview

Homelessness: an overview

With the pass of the time we can see in the streets people with a lot of problems, just like us. But, they are facing the impact of authority's actions and the different stereotypes that the society have made about themselves. Drugdealer, drug addicts, alcoholics, thieves. And it goes on. We don't have rights over them, we aren't better or worse than they are.

But... why do these people become homeless?

There are some factors which can lead to a person becoming homeless:
  • Causes that include poverty, unemployment and a lack of quality, affordable and appropriate housing. This is the most important because it's the most needed.
  • People who have been in prison or in mental health institutions, most of them were left alone in this institutions because of the lack of resources.
These factors determinate the situation of a person that doesn't have a place to sleep. Some of them are not even their own fault so we should stop the discrimination.

An important video about how to solve homelessness, and an example that we should follow in all countries.
